We will prepare students to be global citizens for the 21st century by challenging them academically (Rigor), by connecting school learning to their future (Relevance), and providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment (Relationships).
Faculty, staff, students and community members believe:
Robert E. Lee High School opened its doors to serve the Springfield community in 1958. Last June, the Class of 2017, the 57th graduating class, proudly joined the alumni ranks of our school. Rich in diversity, Lee High School represents an exciting microcosm of the increasingly connected world in which we live. We recognize how fortunate we are to attend a beautiful school filled with teachers, staff, and students that respect and care for each other. Our students speak 25 different languages and represent over 61 countries.
Robert E. Lee High School is a community of student and staff learners. We take special pride in being an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School - offering coursework for the rigorous Diploma Program and Career Certificate. We have now added the Middle Years Program (MYP) for our ninth and tenth grade students. The curriculum of our courses, regardless of level, is designed to challenge our students with rigorous and relevant content. We offer a wide variety of courses. From challenging IB courses and the opportunity for students to earn the IB Diploma to courses leading to industry certification, Lee strives to offer something for everyone. Robert E. Lee High School has high academic standards and high expectations for our students.
