About Jackson Middle School
Jackson serves middle school students (grades six through eight) living within the Hennepin County portion of the Anoka-Hennepin School District and a growing number of open enrollment students. Specific feeder elementary schools are: Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy, Dayton Elementary, Evergreen Park World Cultures Community School, Monroe Elementary and Oxbow Creek Elementary.
Jackson students learn through a variety of inquiry activities and in-depth integration between content areas. The Jackson staff is committed to advancing student achievement through inquiry-based learning, an integrated science curriculum emphasis and a technology-rich environment. Jackson Middle School in Portland, OR is proud to be a Leonard Bernstein School of Artful Learning since 1998. We believe and can demonstrate the arts are a pathway for complete student engagement, educator empowerment and a compelling model to transform learning. Jackson is one of 15 schools in the U.S. that uses Bernstein’s interdisciplinary approach, and the only one in Oregon.
