Mission
All students at Hancock Elementary School will demonstrate academic, social and emotional growth so that they may succeed as individuals and positively contribute to their classroom, school, and local community.
Principal's Message:
On behalf of the Hancock Elementary School Staff, we would like to welcome you to the 2018 – 2019 school year. I hope that you have enjoyed a relaxing and/or adventurous summer. At HES we are busy readying the school for children – cleaning, planning, ordering, unpacking, moving, and hiring. We are excited to embark on another learning adventure with the Hancock Community.
There are some new faces at HES. We are happy to welcome Katelyn Purrington as our kindergarten teacher. Katelyn has been teaching kindergarten at Greenfield Elementary for three years. Emily Hutchins is our new 3/4 classroom teacher. Emily taught fourth grade in Maine last year. She is excited to return to the Monadnock region. Kelly Parker, former assistant principal at SMS, is our wellness teacher. Wellness class will combine health and physical education in order to provide a more integrated curriculum. Finally, we welcome Lindsay Carter as our new administrative assistant. Lindsay will start with us on August 27th. Angela, admin extraordinaire, will continue to sub during the transition in order to ensure our school year starts without a hitch!
At HES, we embrace our vision of “Rooted in Community, Reaching for the Stars.” We continue to find ways to partner with families and community member to bring the richest learning experience to our students. As parents, you are encouraged to be actively involved in your child’s education by talking to your child about school, volunteering whenever possible, attending assemblies and curriculum nights as well as participating in the Hancock Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This partnership helps contribute to our students’ mastery of the core curriculum while shaping our children into considerate and responsible citizens. We look forward to celebrating with you the achievements of our students.
