International Baccalaureate World School

Thomas Edison High School offers two levels of International Baccalaureate classes: the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP). The IB Middle Years Program, for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers. The IB Diploma, for students 17 to 18, includes six IB subjects and examinations, 150 hours of CAS (Creativity, Action, Service), the Theory of Knowledge course, and a 4,000-word independent Extended Essay

Community Partnerships

From Target to the Morris Park Players Community Theatre, Thomas Edison High School partners with a diverse array of community businesses and organizations to bring education and opportunity to Edison students.

Scholarships 

The Edison Scholarship and Memorial Fund was founded in 1946 as the Louis G. Cook Memorial Fund to preserve the memory of Louis G. Cook, principal of Edison High School from 1921 to 1944, and to provide scholarships and other aids to deserving students, former students, and graduates of Edison High School. The ESMF is dedicated to giving service to promote the continuing education of Edison High School graduates.  It is our position that all students receive an equal opportunity to attain scholarships and /or financial aid in their pursuit of higher learning.

Support Services for Students

School Improvement Plan

The Minneapolis Public School district holds itself accountable for continuous improvement to close the achievement gap while raising achievement for all students. The Continuous Improvement process addresses the needs of all schools and all academic departments. MPS is committed to using data to inform and focus improvement efforts.
