It is an honor to be the principal at the Burton Center for Arts and Technology (BCAT), a place of infinite possibilities! As a teacher and coach, my career has allowed me to instruct on a variety of topics and and reach a wide array of students. I have also been honored to serve in a few different administrative roles around the Roanoke Valley. This is my nineteenth year as an educator and my second year as the principal of BCAT - a special place full of talented students and staff.

Education is my passion and calling. I believe in it's power to change the world. As educators, we must do all we can to challenge and assist our students to make progress by improving a little each day. If we are to create a better tomorrow, we must equip ourselves with the skills and knowledge required to invent what is necessary, innovate what needs improvement and adapt to dynamic circumstances.

Mission: To educate students to become responsible, skilled 21st-century citizens by using authentic learning experiences and innovative instruction in a multidisciplinary environment.

BCAT’s vision is to serve as a model for educational excellence that prepares diverse, life-ready individuals for success in their future endeavors.
