About Broad Run High School
Principal's Message:
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.
50 years and going strong. The mission of Broad Run centers on relationships. This has been the core of Broad Run for a half century. The mission of LCPS is 'empowering all students to make meaningful contributions.'
Our continued challenge, this year and in coming years, will be to find new and innovative ways of engaging ALL learners and work together to 'empower all.' I believe that being aware of ourselves individually and collectively, and knowing our students individually and collectively are key steps.
This year we will continue to focus on deeper learning and student agency. With more of our work focused on embracing each other and our students as individuals, we will embrace our diverse learning community as we seek to improve individual achievement and character.
Mission Statement:
Broad Run High School is a diverse community of lifelong learners where students, parents and faculty work together to promote each individual's achievement and character through empowering relationships.
Who are we? The Broad Run High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (BRHS PTSO), a 501(3)(c), is the supportive arm of the BRHS administration; it is comprised of volunteers from the BRHS community. Members of the board are voted in by the BRHS community. What does the PTSO do? We coordinate many events including hospitality, Teacher Appreciation Week, Scholarship Committee, Spring Fundraiser, and Restaurant Spirit Nights. One hundred percent (100%) of the funds raised are returned to the students through programs such as; Freshman/New Student Welcome Reception, SOL breakfasts for all Students, Parent/Student College Preparatory Programs, Senior Scholarships, Project Graduation, and School based clubs and organizations. How do I get involved? Join the PTSO today and help make a difference! The PTSO is open to any parent of a BRHS student or any member of the BRHS staff or administration. Meetings are normally held on the 2nd Monday of the month at BRHS in the Library. |
